Installation/Set Up Is more than bolting the units to the wall, or uncrating Carts
We know about installing Mounting Systems Our largest hospital installation was for 600 wall mount Systems and 125 Carts
Weunderstand healthcare needs We understand census counts and infection control (we have a professional we consult with). We understand the potential impact of this work on your mission and on the patients and that you have a projected go-live that we'd like to help you keep
We're proud of the way we PreStage and Organize. These pictures are from a recent large install and also show some of the Systems we installed. The video lasts only a minute.
Wall Mount Units Enclosures/Cabinets and Arms
We Assess
How the Systems will be used and by whom Can the System be installed where you'd like it and still work the way you want in that location? This requires a knowledge of ... How they function — range of movement Best mounting height for the most users ... caregiver efficiency How to make the finished installation look good
.... and there's a lot more
For larger installations, especially, we are firm believers that, whenever possible, we should spend time in your facility and do a walkthroughto discuss the above points. Even if we just talk on the phone, or if it's a single unit to be installed, we want to cover these points!
Carts
We Assess
Mobility Systems, whether you call them COWs or WOWs or Carts, also have issues during set up that need to be addressed
Proper battery charging if a powered cart Re-seating all power connections ... they sometimes come loose during shipping Adjusting the lift mechanism Making the finished installation look good
We Perform
Based on the number of units to be installed and your go-live, we assign a one person or multiple-person crew ... our 600 unit installation had 4 people installing and 2 available for installations who were staging and doing data input for the hospital's inventory control We stage (pre-assemble) the Systems away from the point-of-care area of the installation keeping the patient area cleaner and free of debris and reducing on-unit time! We are mindful of the environment and your mission — we use HEPA-filtered vacuums to clean the area of any debris we may have created When setting up carts, we do a thorough check of all components and all movement, securing all power connections and cable-managing all cables/wire We plug in and charge carts for at least 4 hours before releasing them as ready-to-deploy For arms and enclosures we do thorough testing of all movable parts and make sure that all cables are tied and secured allowing the freedom of movement required without Interfering with that movement and without getting caught All installation technicians are fully insured and bonded
In-Service
We Inform
Now that the Systems are set up and the computer equipment installed on them, we do an In-Service
For the IT Department For the end users
We want to help you keep your
trouble tickets to a minimum. So we do an In-Service to review the basics that the end users on the floor will need to know about using the system.
If there are powered carts, we talk about proper battery care. Did you know that a battery can last 3 to 4 yearsif it is kept plugged in whenever the cart isn't in use? And that one that is allowed to completely discharge too often can be dead in 3 to 6 months?
If you want, we can also be on-site during go-live to not only answer questions, but also to do any adjustments that may be discovered during the first actual use. Let's talk about your deployment or move.
